Left brain, right brain, what shall I be? I was always interested in art and studied at the Art Students League of New York. However after college my career took a left turn. In 1965
I became the systems analyst and programmer for medical research at the Albert Einstein Medical School. While at Einstein Medical School I met my husband and we now have 3 wonderful boys and 4 grandchildren.
In 1972 we moved to Arizona and my career changed. My husband opened his orthopedic practice and I worked in the business of healthcare and investments. I kept involved in art by becoming a Docent at the Phoenix Art Museum. Then in 1999 I started working the right side of my brain. I studied with
Bill Lundquist, Chris Saper and many others
to develop the skill of painting portraiture.
My dog portraits are known for capturing a unique likeness infused with soul. People say the painting is so close to real, they want to "pet" it. My greatest pleasure is when the owner sees the finished portrait for the first time and is struck by its likeness,
but more important,
a sense of personality and love, something a photo can not do. My pet portraits are hanging in private collections throughout the U.S.
I work in my studio in Scottsdale, Arizona.
